Orientation & Foundations

Immersive onboarding, sector briefings, and assignment to a live client engagement. No theory-only weeks.

WEEK 3–4

Live Client Projects

Work directly on active SmartChain engagements under senior supervision. Deliverables go to real clients.

WEEK 5–6

Mentorship & Specialization

Deepen your track with 1:1 mentorship, peer learning, and cross-functional exposure across the firm.

WEEK 7–8

Showcase & Placement

Present your work to a panel including partner organizations. Most placements are confirmed in this phase.

Who is SLEP designed for?

SLEP is designed for recent graduates and early-career professionals (0–3 years of experience) who want to accelerate their career through real client work rather than traditional graduate schemes. Participants come from across Nigeria and the wider African continent.

How does the application process work?

Applications open three times per year. Shortlisted candidates complete a structured assessment and interview with a senior SmartChain consultant. Cohorts are capped at 30 participants to maintain quality of mentorship and client access.

Is SLEP paid or unpaid?

SLEP participants receive a monthly stipend throughout the program. We believe meaningful work deserves meaningful compensation — even at the training stage. Specific stipend amounts are confirmed at the offer stage.

Can organizations partner with SLEP to source talent?

Yes. Partner organizations get early access to SLEP graduates, participate in the final showcase, and can offer roles before the program ends. Several of our hiring partners have built direct pipelines from SLEP into their graduate and associate programs. Contact us to discuss a partnership.

What happens after 8 weeks?

Graduates join the SLEP Alumni Network — an active community with continued mentorship access, referral opportunities, and exclusive SmartChain events. Many alumni go on to become mentors in subsequent cohorts.

Can SLEP graduates be hired into SmartChain directly?

Yes. Several of our current consultants and program managers are SLEP alumni. Exceptional performers are considered for full-time roles before the program ends. This is communicated transparently from the start of each cohort.
